‘The Wall,’ Rahul Dravid enjoys rafting down the Ganges

Known for its spirituality and yoga, Rishikesh in Uttarakhand has now made it onto the international map for offering adventure sport.  Famous personalities from home and abroad make a beeline to get a thrill in the Ganges rapids. Adding to the long list of those personalities is Rahul Dravid, also known as the “The Wall.’

Arriving in Rishikesh with is family on Monday, Rahul Dravid stayed at the Ataali Ganga resort with his family. On his first day here, Rahul Dravid met Swami Chidanand Swami at Parmarth Niketan and took part in the evening Ganga Aarti with his family.

From mild to wild and everything in between, the rapids on the Ganga offer it all with a picture postcard setting to take you through, making this the perfect playground for one and all, amateur as well as experienced rafters, so it dint come as a complete surprise when sportsman Rahul Dravid too enjoyed rafting with his family and his solo-kayaking stint with his woman guide down the magnificent Ganga.

Rahul and family have been  enjoying their vacation in the cooler climes of the hill-state taking a much deserved vacation after India’s spectacular performance in the Under-19 Cricket Tournament. Talking about his experience, Dravid said that he had been smitten by Rishikesh, its picture-post card beauty and its cooler climes, which he felt would keep bringing him back year after year.
