Doiwala: The first-ever TEDx-SRHU, being organised by the School of Management Studies (SMS), was formally launched at Swami Rama Himalayan University with a grand theme unveiling ceremony. Students added enthusiasm and energy to the occasion through vibrant cultural performances. The theme for the inaugural edition of TEDx-SRHU is ‘The Spark Within’.
Addressing the gathering at the Central Park of Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU) on Thursday, SRHU President Dr. Vijay Dhasmana said that every major transformation begins with an idea. He said TEDx-SRHU would inspire students to recognise their hidden potential and transform their ideas into a means of bringing about positive change in society. Dr. Dhasmana said that ‘The Spark Within’ is not merely a theme, but a message for young people to recognise the spark within themselves and channel it into positive energy.
SRHU Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajendra Dobhal said that TEDx-SRHU would provide students with an opportunity to learn from the experiences of individuals who are making a significant contribution across diverse fields and to broaden their perspectives.
Dr. Taruna Gautam, Director, School of Management Studies, highlighted the significance of TEDx and said that TEDx provides a platform for ideas, experiences and stories that inspire people to think differently and broaden their perspectives. She said that through TEDx-SRHU, students would have the opportunity to connect with inspiring personalities from diverse fields and learn from their experiences.
Students from various colleges of the university participated enthusiastically in the theme unveiling ceremony. They presented vibrant cultural performances, including dance and music, adding colour and energy to the event.
Principals and faculty members from various colleges of the university, along with a large number of students, were present on the occasion.
