A Bazaar Like No Other

Dateline Dehradun: Some autumn weekends are meant to be spent slowly.

Under the shade of litchi trees, with music in the air and the easy hum of conversations around you, a different kind of bazaar is taking shape in Dehradun.

On 19–20 September, Café Commune, Malsi will bring together more than three dozen independent makers and creative brands from Dehradun, Nainital, Rishikesh and New Delhi for the city’s first-ever Conscious Bazaar.

Think less of a marketplace and more of a leisurely wander — a chance to browse, pause, discover, chat and perhaps stumble upon something you didn’t know you were looking for.

Bhavna Bist, co-owner Café Commune adds, “While our regular markets and events are more community- and food-focused, Conscious Bazaar is a highly curated marketplace focused on unique, handcrafted and thoughtfully made products. It’s all about conscious shopping,  craftsmanship, discovery and slowing down over fast fashion.”

There will be jewellery made by hand and with intention, clothes and accessories, pottery, wearable art, upcycled creations, home décor, fragrances and wellness finds. Objects with texture, character and a story — the kind of things that stand apart from the mass-produced and feel more than an ordinary purchase.

Behind every stall you will discover a maker. An artist who has chosen to work with their hands. A designer who has thought about where something comes from and how it is made. A creative who has poured time, patience and passion into an object that will eventually find its way into your home or wardrobe.

This is not a market designed for the quick browse-and-buy. It is a space for creativity, craftsmanship and discovery — and for remembering the pleasure of taking your time over what you choose to bring home.

    See you there!
