Dateline Dehradun: Over 70 school principals and leading educators from across Uttarakhand gathered at Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU), Jolly Grant, for the ‘Principal’s Conclave 2026’. Organized by the university’s School of Management Studies (SMS) under the theme “Shaping Tomorrow Begins Today,” the event focused on creating a smoother academic and developmental transition for students moving from secondary school to university level. The summit brought princiapls, university leaders, and Govt. officers to address the changing dynamics of education, student mental health, skill integration under the National Education Policy (NEP), and career pathways.
Inaugurating the event, Chief Guest Vinod Prasad Semalti, Director of Secondary Education Uttarakhand, noted that building strong coordination between secondary and higher education is the need of the hour to open new academic possibilities for students. Special Guest Govind Ram Jaiswal, Chief Education Officer Dehradun, stated that modern education requires incorporating fresh perspectives and practical skills, highlighting that joint efforts between schools and universities are vital to prepare young minds for changing global demands.
Delivering the keynote address, renowned media stalwart and business leader AP Parigi emphasized that effective time management in relation to digital media consumption is essential to ensuring quality education in the 21st century.
Addressing the gathering, SRHU President Dr. Vijay Dhasmana explained that effective collaboration between schools and higher education institutions equips students with structured guidance and expanded opportunities beyond traditional academic boundaries.
SRHU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Rajendra Dobhal highlighted that the fundamental purpose of contemporary education is to prepare students for future challenges, and strategic partnerships with secondary schools help provide a clear and successful trajectory for every student’s learning journey.
SRHU’s core philosophy of ‘Life Ka Compass’, which advocates that education must extend beyond obtaining degrees and jobs to guide students toward discovering their true interests, capabilities, and moral purpose. SMS Director Dr. Taruna Gautam stated that the initiative successfully established a shared platform for state educational leaders and higher education experts to outline actionable strategies for student development. The proceedings were jointly-anchored by Dr. Apoorv Trivedi and Dr. Shweta Sethi, and SMS Principal Dr. Ritvik Dubey delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the state officials, school leaders, and organizing teams for committing to a unified vision for student growth.
