Daly College (Indore), in collaboration with Valley of Words (VoW), Dehradun and AFS India, is proud to announce the 5th edition of the G-Literati | Young Adult Literature Vertical—a festival that brings together the spirit of literature, art, and imagination. This year’s event promises to be one of the most diverse gatherings of young readers and creative minds in central India, with over a dozen participating schools from Mhow, Ludhiana, Gwalior, Dehradun, and Pathankot including leading institutions from Indore.
All five shortlisted authors under the Young Adults Categories this year have confirmed their presence at the one-day event. In keeping with G-Literati’s ethos, panels will be moderated by students themselves, allowing young interlocutors to question authors directly and develop confidence in public speaking, analytical skills, and critical inquiry. A Patch of Sun, A Patch of Shade by Vidya Nesarikar, The White Lotus by Aditi Krishnakumar, Navnit Nirav’s नाच, Huthuka Sumi’s Giants as well as Upasana’s उड़ने वाला फूल will be part of the panel discussions. Integrating literature with art and imagination, the festival allows young minds to celebrate the enduring power of books, where every page marks a new beginning and every reader becomes a thinker.
The collaborative nature of the festival with the participation of schools from across India demonstrates how literature builds bridges between geographies, languages, and experiences. As Dr. (Ms.) Gunmeet Bindra, Principal of Daly College, remarked, “There was a time when the greatest adventure began with the simple act of turning a page. Bombarded by information, captivated by endless digital distractions, and offered instant answers through artificial intelligence, we often forget that true learning lies beyond information itself.” She further added, “Books remain unmatched in this journey, inviting us to question, to reflect, and to become. It is this belief that inspires the 5th edition of G-literati, Daly College’s annual celebration of literature, to be held on 1st September 2026, in collaboration with Valley of Words-Shabdavali and AFS India.”
As the 2026 edition unfolds at Daly College, it will stand as a celebration of literature, art, and youth engagement. Dr Sanjeev Chopra, VoW Festival Director, states: “As the VoW~DC collaboration enters its fifth year, the offerings are becoming richer. The engaged participation of students reflects their concerns about ecology, environment, the state of the nation, their re-interpretation of our past, and our hopes for the future. This is also the first time that Hindi authors are part of the VoW shortlist for Young Adults. This is indeed a very welcome sign, and puts into practise what the NEP has been professing.”
